Ladies Section

The Ladies Section at Chorleywood is a very active division of the club and comprises just under 60 members, 30 of whom play regularly each Tuesday, some of whom play just nine holes and most stay to enjoy lunch together too. There is a small Business Ladies Section which plays at the weekend, which the ladies would like to encourage.

Our section is extremely friendly with a wide range of golf abilities so those of all standards are welcome from those just starting to play through to those with low handicaps. We have great changing and clubhouse facilities and pride ourselves on being one of the friendliest clubs in the area. Our annual four day trip away to Dorset each year when around 20 of us go away together is testament to this we feel!

There is a competition each Tuesday with a variety of formats. As the oldest club in Hertfordshire, there are obviously many trophies which have been donated over the years and these are played for both in strokeplay and Stableford rounds of golf - sometimes these are played over two weeks, thus making a 36 hole competition. There are of course fun competitions interspersed with the more serious competitions!

There are also friendly matches played against many of the local clubs both in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire so there are plenty of opportunities to play at other clubs in the vicinity.

There is also a very active bridge section which runs an in-house league during the winter months as well as two very popular charity bridge drives.

We are actively looking for new lady members to join us and would welcome new players. Contact our Club Secretary, Peter Rodwell, on 01923 282009 or by e-mail at
