Why Join Chorleywood Golf Club

Not only do we have a pretty course integrated with Chorleywood Common, but we also have a warm, welcoming and friendly membership. All this backed up by a comfortable Club House where you can relax with other members or your guests.

The Chorleywood Golfing Experience

The course represents a fair, but demanding, challenge for golfers of all levels and experience. It is a gentle walk, characterised by tight tree lined fairways and gently undulating greens. While your sand-wedge may not be necessary we have a number of 'grass bunkers' guarding our greens. And we really do have golfers of all levels of capability, ranging from those with very low single figure handicaps, to those enjoying their golf at the other end of the spectrum! Tee-times are only necessary for organised competitive golf. Our course drains well and is very rarely closed.

Not Much Time for Golf?

At Chorleywood GC we understand that there are multiple demands on your time. We have an advantage in being a 9 hole course with members having the choice of playing a full 18 holes, or a single 9 holes. In fact we also have two shorter loops, 6 holes (1-6, taking approximately 1 hour) or 3 holes (7-9, taking approximately 30 minutes). All these loops return to the car park. We arrange both 18 and 9 hole competitions.

Competitive and Social Golf

Do you enjoy the challenge of entering a competition and competing against all members? Or do you prefer the relaxation of a friendly four-ball with a little 'banter'? You can have them all at Chorleywood. We have organised competitions for men and ladies throughout the year, including knock-out competitions. We also have mixed competitions. Many of these are accompanied by trophies with a long heritage, the stream of previous winners being displayed on our 'honours boards' in the club house.

If you just want 'social golf' then you can make arrangements with other members, arrive at the Club for one of the 'organised' roll-ups (e.g. men on a Wednesday morning) or just turn up at the car park on a Saturday morning when you are sure to be able to join other members for a round.

If that is not enough then we have matches (both at home and away) against neighbouring clubs and for all levels in the club.

The Social Scene

We maintain a varied social programme that has recently included a Race Night, an Auction of Promises, a Sixties Night and a Quiz Night. Coming shortly are our Mens' Dinner with guest speaker, an Irish Night and then the Captain's Wine and Dine with Mystery Murder Night!

Something for everybody we would hope!

If you play Bridge then we have active Bridge sections for both men and ladies.

The Money Side

If you've read the above, then you have the basic membership proposition at Chorleywood GC. However we understand that when spending your money you have a lot of choices! That is why we are continually looking to increase 'value for money' at Chorleywood.

We believe our normal subscription compares very well with those at other clubs in the area. Nobody joining Chorleywood GC will pay more than £499 in their first year - that is less than £10 per week for just about unlimited golf!

Members are given a 'green card' which is not only used to gain access to the club house and enter competitions, but also secures a 10% discount on drinks bought at the bar. Similarly it can be shown at The Complete Golfer to obtain a discount on golfing equipment and clothing.

It doesn't stop there. If you fancy a change then Chorleywood members have some options. They can take advantage of our reciprocal arrangements, with free mid-week golf at 5 courses. As we are members of the Association of James Braid Courses and also make County Cards available, both these schemes offer golf at a long list of courses nationwide at 'member's guest rates' or similar. See our Member's Benefits page.

Getting Started

If you're impressed, why not give us a try? Our Secretary will be pleased to arrange a round and introduction with one of our members at a time to suit you. There are no membership formalities apart from completing our membership form. If you wish we will help you 'get comfortable' at Chorleywood GC by assigning a 'buddy' to you. We'll also send you our regular newsletter so that you know what is going on and when!
